I was finally able to get my bank account open. I went for my appointment on Thursday only to be told to come back once I had a "letter of introduction" from my bank. Luckily I used to work for my bank so I am friends with the vice president. Teresa (VP of bank) was very kind and emailed me the letter right away. I went back yesterday and got the account open. Because I am not a UK citizen, my account is BASIC. Just an ATM card...no cheques, no debit card, no nothing. This is good enough. I mainly need it to pay my rent by direct debit.
I just moved into my flat at about 2 PM my time. It is simple but nice enough. Definitely not a palace. I'm still unpacking, but just thought I would update everybody on my status. I will post some pictures in just a bit once i get everything unpacked and somewhat decorated. I left my duvet and pillow at Callum's house. So I have the cover and the sheet, but no quilt. haha. There isn't quite enough storage in this room, so I will need to go buy some plastic bins or something tomorrow for tshirts and underwear.
